Consecutive interpretation

Interpretation with pauses when a speaker makes appropriate pauses for the interpreter. In conference settings in more formal situations “long consec” may be used with segments 5-10 and more minutes long. In more casual settings, “short consec” is several sentences or even a part of a sentence. Interpreters usually take notes when they are listening to the passage to be interpreted.
