About the Authors

Cyril Flerov

Cyril Flerov russian interpreterCyril Flerov, is a a professionally trained Russian conference interpreter (Russian A, English B).

His credits include over twenty years of experience in simultaneous and consecutive interpretation as a freelance consultant and an interpretation instructor in Russia and the United States (including the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, formerly the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California).

He is a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC) and of the American Association of Language Specialists (TAALS).

He works with a broad base of US and international clients worldwide with his domicile in San Francisco. More info about the author.

Michael Jacobs

Michael JacobsMichael Jacobs has been an Adjunct Professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (formerly the Monterey Institute of International Studies), teaching Standard American English (Accent Reduction) and Public Speaking for Interpreters since 1996.

A member of the Actor’s Equity Association, Michael has acted professionally for over thirty years. He holds a Master’s degree in Performance with emphasis on voice and diction, and also teaches Theatre for the Monterey Peninsula College and has been Actor-In-Residence for the Pacific Repertory Theatre in Carmel, California since 1990.

He has authored a book entitled SPEAK like an AMERICAN, currently registered with the Library of Congress. More info about the author.
