See “Recording Fee” as an example of usage fee. Language interpretation is intended for “immediate consumption” by persons in the room and may be protected by domestic and international copyright laws. If it is used in any other way except for immediate consumption e.g. to record the interpreter, to broadcast the interpretation, to create a transcript etc it is a different product from the original interpretation and may require paying an additional fee (usage fee) to the interpreter and a written release signed by him/her. Interpreter cannot be recorded without their knowledge and explicit consent.
